A good rule of thumb is if you've made
it to thirty-five and your job still
requires you to wear a name tag, you've
made a serious vocational error."

Startups happen
... every day of the year. According to the IRS, more than
6,000 new ventures start up each day. Less than
one in a million are destined for the Fortune
1000; in fact, 75 percent will never employ more
than the owner.
Many work out of their homes, selling products or services
to local, national or even international
markets. They take advantage of their knowledge
and skills to fill niche markets overlooked by
larger companies.
Few are likely to become millionaires, but many will earn a
comfortable living, in control of their lives
and free from the vagaries and uncertainty of
corporate life.
